5 EASY WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL

By admin | gallery | 0 comment | 16 August, 2020 | 0

Are you trying to save money? Most people are trying to find ways to minimize their expenses. Why not start with your energy consumption by following these five simple tips.

1.WASH YOUR CLOTHES IN COLD WATER

Washing your clothes in warm water means that the water needs to be heated, which requires more energy. Wash your clothes in cold water; it will make your clothes last longer and keep their bright colours. This tip can save you up to $60.00 annually.

2.UNPLUG YOUR ELECTRONICS

Did you know that your plugged-in and unused appliances are still consuming energy? Unplugging your appliances could save $100  to $200 annually. If you are curious about how much energy your devices are using, you can purchase an electricity monitor.

3.TURN DOWN YOUR THERMOSTAT

You are spending approximately 65% of your money on heating and cooling. Turning down your thermostat by one degree could save up to $100 annually. Set back your thermostat, and for every degree, you can save approximately 3%.

Tip: Set your thermostat lower while you’re asleep or are away from home, and you won’t even see the difference.

4.SWITCH YOUR LIGHT

Swapping your standard light bulbs with led bulbs can save you up to 75% in electricity. Switching your lights can save the average family about $100 annually. You can find resources on how to pick the right bulb for you on the Hydro One website.

5.REPLACE YOUR SHOWERHEAD

Replacing your showerhead with a 1 .5  GPM showerhead could save you approximately $54 annually per person. What a great way to save water for future generations.

♦ Practicing these five tips could save you over $400 annually.
